When you are unable to establish a console connection via Micro USB available on these Switches
USB device will show as unknown device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers in Device Manager and device Status will show the below error.
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
If you chosse to install the third-party tool like Driver Easy or Driver Identifier it might not help as it doesn’t detect the USB drivers.

The PC must required Micro USB drivers and might not be installed on the System.

STEPS TO INSTALL
Please download the respective Switch Model firmware and extract it (Most of the firmware versions has the same FTDI drivers)
You will see the Micro USB FTDI drivers inside the firmware file, which you need to install
Please check the Release notes of Supported Systems inside the driver folder, customer might be running OS which might not be in the list mentioned in the RN
If you cannot arrange a supported OS machine, you can download the driver directly from FTDI driver’s page. Latest drivers have wide range of OS supported. Check the Release notes Drivers - FTDI (ftdichip.com)
When the USB is detected, you will see “USB Serial Converter” under Universal Serial Bus Controllers in Device Manager and Device Status should show FTDI drivers and COM Port will be detected
If these steps don’t work, disconnect the PSU cable, wait for 30 seconds and re-insert them back and also Uninstall everything under Universal Serial Bus Controllers and Scan for Hardware changes.
