Dell DA305 and DA310 Adapters Do Not Charge or are Slow to Charge your Computer

Symptoms
Computer does not charge or charges slowly through the DA305 and DA310 multiport adapter
Owners of DA305 and DA310 adapters have reported issues with charging their computer. This happens when you connect your USB Type-C AC adapter through one of the Dell multiport adapters to your computer.
The computer shows a notification about the computer not charging or that it is charging slowly. There is usually a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on the computer's battery status icon.

Cause
The DA305 and DA310 adapters reserve 15 W. This means that your computer gets 15 W less from any power source that is connected through the adapters. Both adapters only support a maximum of 90 W through the USB Type-C power pass-through to the computer.
Resolution
We recommend that you always connect your power source directly to your computer.
Connect a higher power rated USB Type-C power source to cover the power requirement or load of your computer.
