P2417H, maximum resolution?

We're receiving 23.8" monitors for new systems we've ordered and I'm wondering if there's a way to make our OptiPlex 7040 desktops display greater than 1920x1080 resolution. I've tried using the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel to create a custom resolution, but haven't been able to get anything to work. I've looked for guides online about "overclocking" the display, but can't find anything that works. Intel Core i5-6500 CPU, HD Graphics 530, Display Port connection on P2417H monitor.

Thanks,

J. J.

Hi. Thank you for the update. We did check the monitor details and the maximum resolution supported by the monitor is 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz. Hence the monitor can support 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz though it has an Intel 530 graphics card which can support the configuration as mentioned in the previous message.

Lijo

I'm getting an error "custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity," and it won't apply the change.

Per the P2417H User's Guide, the highest resolution supported by the P2417H is 1920x1080 60Hz. Dell does not test overclocking of a monitor.
