Can I upgrade to an Intel Core i9-9900K?

I checked the current processor and it does have a LGA 1151 socket which should be able to hold this new processor.

it is not just socket.  it depends on the chipset and vendor/Dell bios update.

i9-9900k fits LGA1151 socket but whether the motherboard can run the cpu, it needs the required chipset and bios.

LGA1151 socket is for Intel 100, 200, 300 series chipset.

the 100/200 series do not support coffee lake cpu (Intel 8th gen) or 9th gen.

the 300 series chipset supports 8th gen natively but need a bios update to support 9th gen (so called coffee lake refresh cpu).

Inspiron G5 5090 for example has H370 chipset which is a 300 series chipset and has the bios update for i9-9900k
