Hello, I have a optiplex 3010 and I want to upgrade the cpu to the i5-3740k , is it possible
I bought a 3010 recently for 40 dollars off eBay, I wanted to upgrade it as a starter gaming PC , I'm waiting for a gtx 630 to arrive so I can run old games and low end games, I wanted to see if I can upgrade the cpu from a i3-3220 to a i5-3740k

Yes you can. there is little difference in i5-3570k (3.4 ghz) and i5-3470 (3.2 ghz) in Optiplex b/c both will run at base frequency. Optiplex bios and chipset does not support overclocking of -k cpu.
