Intel RST for XPS 8930

Dell Support Assistant told me that I had an update for RST - going to version 15.9.1.1020.  The update failed. I finally got it installed by downloading the package from Dell, disabling/reboot; uninstalling/reboot; installing/reboot; enabling/reboot. About a 45 minute process. Seems like Software update would either know you need to do all this, or have a more efficient way of doing it.

Anyway, having said that, as I was figuring all this out, I saw that Intel had on their site v16.0.2.1086 of RST. Is this actually a preferred version?
