My SD card slot does not work on my Dell Latitude 10 ST 2 tablet!

Hi,
I recently purchased a Dell Latitude 10 ste 2 tablet. I put my sd card into the slot and for some reason it won't pick it up. I have tried everything to get it to work. I feel like I'm missing a driver for the SD card slot. The person that had the tablet before me updated to Windows 10 and the SD card slot did not work. So once I received it my hubby downgraded it to Windows 8 hoping that the update or driver will install it's self. Nothing happened and it still didn't work. I even bought the right SD card for the tablet (64gb SDXC 48mb Sandisk Ultra Plus). I am stuck with a tablet that I can't even upgrade the memory. Can someone tell me what's missing or what I'm doing wrong so that I can use my tablet the way it's suppose to be used? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Have you tried another SD card?
Did you revert to Win 8 or Win 8.1?
Have you looked in BIOS setup to see if the media card reader is Enabled? See page 21 and 23, here.
Does the USB port work?
Open Device Manager in Windows and see if any item is marked with red X or yellow !, or if there's an "unknown" item listed/
