Vertical line on Dell S2240L monitor

Hello,

I am getting a vertical line on my Dell S2240L monitor which I bought 2 years ago from a local retailer in Pune, India. The monitor is still in 3 years warranty period. I tried to reach Dell support through email, chat, phone without any success as all these channels don't allow me to proceed without a service tag which is not present on the monitor. I found online that it is not printed for 21.5" monitors.

All I have is the following serial number at the back of my monitor.

Serial Number - CN-01MVD1-64180-38C-1M1T

Purchase Date - 28 Oct 2013

Manufactured Date - Aug 2013

Please guide me on how to get the monitor repaired.

Thanks,

Mandar Kulkarni

Before any monitor exchange can be done, you must first do the monitor Factory Reset, Self-Test, and BID (Built-in Diagnostic).
- If the issue is not present while running the test, the monitor is fine. The culprit is the video card, video card ports, cabling, or the video card driver
- If the issue is present, you may get a like for like monitor exchange if still inside the 3 year warranty period

The warranty ends on August 12, 2016. We do not repair monitors, we only exchange them. Dell India Technical Support is not following the Dell Global Policy, "Dell Monitor Replacement Policy and Procedure".

* Open, "Monitor warranties and replacement instructions"
* Scroll down to, "Monitors without a service tag number purchased from resellers (Amazon, Best Buy, Buy.com, Cost Co, Walmart, Sams, other online store, etc.)"

Thanks for responding. I will do those tests first and revert with results.
