Put laptop to sleep instead is shuts off
I
have recently purchased a Dell laptop Inspiron M5110 and have used the sleep
mode before and it was fine. About 3 days ago I noticed that when I put the
laptop to sleep either by closing the lid or clicking on the option to sleep it
shut off instead. I did not realize it was not working properly until I opened
the lid and the laptop starts up and it says it has recovered from an improper
shut down and it asks me to start in safe mode or normal mode. Can someone
please advise why this is happening and how to fix it?

Go to the Advanced Power section where you can select what will happen when you close the lid or click on the power or sleep buttons.
