Hi

There is a real easy way to find out the cluster time. Issue a notify in Centera Viewer CLI and check the Health Report. Right at the beginning the Report Identification lists Creation Date and Time. This is based on the cluster time and date.

Best regards, Holger

EMC Service can check this for you.

If you are using replication, both Centera clusters need to have the same time

If you need to adjust the cluster time, this will require a cluster outage. If replicating, then both Centeras will need to be adjusted requiring an outage on both ends.

Generally speaking, the time on the Centera should be irelevant to everything but itself. Making system clock adjustments may impact Centera internal processes such as replication and garbage collection. Replication of deletes can become a problem if the delete predates the creation time of the object etc.

Small adjustments only, should be made. EMC Service will need to make any adjustments.

CAUTION:

Setting the date on a Compliance enabled cluster can cause MAJOR problems as the retention period of the blobs is set relative to the clusters platform time.

You can accidentally mark every blob on the system for purge by setting the platform time past the oldest retention date.

DO NOT perform this procedure on a Compliance edition production box.

Get the current GMT (also called UTC) from

You will be required emcexpert privileges to perform the steps in the putty session:

To check the Date and Time try running Date or Time command on the putty session.

Try logging into Centera Putty session to any of the nodes and issue the below commands.

c001n01# date

c001n01# time

Hi,

You could log inot Centera Viewer using admin credentials and issue command "show replication detail" in CLI to get the current dat and time.
