症狀

Does Not Wake-on-LAN

If your system is powered off (not in a sleep or hibernate state) and Ethernet connected using a USB Type-C based docking station or Ethernet adapter, you cannot wake the system from a complete power off state using Wake-on-LAN.

原因

Dock Sleep State Support Scenarios

The Dell Thunderbolt 3 Dock (TB16) is not affected by this issue. It will Wake-on-LAN (WOL) from S3, S4, or S5 sleep states.

The Dell USB Type-C Dock (WD15) versions A00 through A03 only support WOL from the S3 power state.

Note: A firmware update is available on the Dell Support site: Dell.com/Support/Drivers

WD15 Docks version A04, like the TB16 support WOL from S3, S4 or S5 sleep states.

The DA200 multiport adapter only supports WOL from the S3 power state.

解析度

Wake-on-LAN from Sleep State ONLY

There are several settings that must be configured to enable WOL with USB docks/adapters.

The BIOS must be configured to allow USB devices to wake the system.

Also, the power settings must be configured in Device Manager, Network adapters, USB Ethernet adapter (exact name varies), Properties, Power Management tab.  (Check all three boxes.)

Next, go to the Advanced tab, scroll down to the WOL & Shutdown Link Speed property, and select Not Speed Down from the Value menu.

The final requirement is that the system must be plugged into AC power in order for WOL to function.
