PSQN | R750 | R7525 | FAN0029: 후면 하드 드라이브 케이지 팬 오류

Symptoms

후면 4x2.5" 하드 드라이브 백플레인을 사용하여 구성된 Dell PowerEdge R750 및 R7525 서버에는 3개의 추가 후면 시스템 팬(7,8,9)이 장착되어 있습니다. 정상적인 시스템 작동 시 이러한 팬은 분리되고 서버에 다시 삽입되었다고 반복적으로 보고할 수 있습니다. 이러한 오류 이벤트는 SEL(System Event Log) 및 iDRAC9 수명주기 로그에 모두 기록됩니다. 

현장 최종 사용자는 서버 후면에서 서버의 왼쪽 상단 3분의 1 지점에 있는 2.5" 드라이브 슬롯을 확인하여 후면 4x2.5" 하드 드라이브 백플레인이 있는지 시각적으로 확인할 수 있습니다. 아래 이미지를 참조하여 4x2.5" 백플레인 케이지를 식별합니다.

원격 최종 사용자는 iDRAC9 웹 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 후면 4x2.5" 하드 드라이브 백플레인이 있는지 식별할 수 있습니다. Storage > Overview > Enclosures로 이동합니다. 사용 가능한 인클로저 세부 정보를 확장하고 Enclosure Location이 Rear로 되어 있는지 확인합니다.

이 문제가 발생하는 시스템은 후면 팬 7~9가 누락되었고 약 5초 후에 삽입되었음을 나타내는 이벤트를 순환할 수 있습니다. 이러한 FAN0029 및 FAN0028 이벤트는 아래 예와 같이 SEL 및 수명주기 로그에 기록됩니다.

Cause

iDRAC9은 5초마다 시스템 팬에 RPM 판독값을 쿼리합니다. 이러한 이벤트 주기가 빠르게 연속적으로 발생하면 iDRAC이 반환된 일부 데이터 바이트를 오류로 잘못 해석하여 잘못된 "removed" 오류 메시지를 표시합니다. iDRAC에서 다음 쿼리를 실행하면 팬 및 iDRAC이 올바르게 동기화되어 로그에 "inserted" 메시지가 나타납니다.

Resolution

Dell iDRAC9 펌웨어 버전 5.10.10.52(2022년 4월)는 반환된 RPM 응답의 잘못된 처리를 해결합니다. 이 버전으로 업그레이드하면 문제가 해결됩니다.
