VXrail Manager Appliance Low Disk Space

Dear all,

Im attempting to update our VXrail 4th Gen appliances from 4.0.302-6829778 to 4.0.401-7673557.

However i received this error:

Pre-checking if there is enough disk space for upgrade.

Not enough free disk space for upgrade. 972 MB more disk space is required. Please refer to the KB 488889 article.

Does anyone know a safe way to clear up some space on the VXrail Manager Appliance?

Thanks

Allan

I recommend you to check dell emc KB#497025.

From my experience, you may encounter upgrade failure when VC/PSC also does not have enough space to upgrade successfully.

I highly recommend you to check if both VC and PSC has enough space on the root filesystem.

I've had this occasionally.

look in \tmp directory of VxRail Manager

You will most likely see a lot of tmp.* & tmpxxxxxxx directories.

I delete them, then retry the upgrade with the composite

rm -rf tmp*

Good luck!

I think that (rm -rf tmp*) is rough method and may contains risk for stable of whole system.

I highly recommend to take a snapshot of VxRail Manager before you do

Thanks folks. Ive run the rm-r tmp* and its cleared the space.

I didn't run the -f force just incase.

Thanks for the advice.
