New version will not download

I repeatedly get the message that a new version is available and will be installed on this PC, already for several months.  When I click "Yes, update now.", I immediately get the notification "We were unable to download a file for installation.  Check your internet connection and try again."  I know my internet connection is working.

I deleted SupportAssist using an uninstaller and then reinstalled it from a link to the newest version that I was given. That resolved it.

Sometimes the updater doesn't work. Copy and paste this address into your browser instead: https://downloads.dell.com/serviceability/catalog/SupportAssistInstaller.exe

Hi PShent:

Could you provide more information about your system, including your Dell product model, Windows OS (if Win 10 please include the version and build shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications), antivirus name and version, Dell SupportAssist version [check at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features. or launch SupportAssist and go to Options (gear icon) | About], and Dell BIOS version. To find your BIOS version press the Windows + R keys to open the Run box, type "msinfo32" in the Run box and click "OK" to open your System Information panel, and look for the “BIOS Version/Date” field.

Do you mean that SupportAssist will not self-update to the latest v3.10.3.3, or is SupportAssist repeatedly failing to install a specific driver or software update such as the SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools v5.5.0.16041?

Is the latest Dell Update v4.3.0 application installed on your system, and if so is this utility able to detect available driver and software updates for your system?

Have you tried a clean reinstall of SupportAssist using Dell employee DELL-Chris M's instructions posted in the thread SA Uninstall / Reinstall that is pinned at the top of this board?  Those instructions recommend that you uninstall all SupportAssist-related software (e.g., including Dell SupportAssist, Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update, Dell SupportAssist Remediaiton, etc., if installed) before reinstalling the latest version of SupportAssist.
