Dell SupportAssist not installing after uninstalling

Hi Dell team. So, I had some issues with Support Assist in my Dell laptop 2-in-1 that lasted for several weeks, just circling without getting access or getting updates. Additionally, I noticed that my Support Assist reported the wrong service tag code, not the one on the back of my laptop.

I also followed these instructions:

Delete these following directories if they exist.

C:\ProgramData\PCDr

C:\ProgramData\SupportAssist

C:\Program Files\Dell\DellDataVault (if unable to delete, reboot and try)

C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent

And I followed everything regarding clean uninstalling from the control panel.

And that was it; after that, I couldn't install SA ever again.

I tried both installers; (SupportAssistInstaller.exe) and (SupportAssistLauncher.exe), it didn't work either.

Below is the only response that I keep receiving with every attempt to install SA

I'd appreciate any help, please.

I have the same problem with INSPIRON 7380, I think it is a general failure from Dell, because in other laptop INSPIRON 5570 the Check Drivers with support assist does not function.

It would be nice if Dell try to fix it or say something regarding this issue.

You have followed correct instructions with some missing steps

Step 1 : Do not uninstall SA from program and feature . UNINSTALL SA using windows fixit found here.

UNISTALL Dell update application using the same Fixit.

Step 2 : Delete all these folders as you have mentioned in your original post.

Step 3 : Delete following registry entries (very important) : Open REGEDIT and navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Now delete Dell hardware, Dell Client management

Reboot and install SupportAssist.

Too late.  I already uninstalled via Windows 10.  So, now what do I do?

Enable Hidden admin

CMD as admin

Net user Aministrator /active:yes

Log in to administrator account

Now find all the folders mentioned in your post and delete then

Uninstall Dell updates.
