U2718Q, RGB format turns screen Violet
YPbPr displays the right colors
RGB 'color input format' turns dark areas Violet (or is it purple). See attached pic.
RGBinputformatPic shows Dell U2718Q on the left. Another monitor displaying the right colors on the right.
Using Windows 10. Latest firmware M2B102 applied. Monitor reset to factory settings.
Built-in Diagnosis showed nothing abnormal.
What could be causing this?
People talked about a 'tint' when using a Mac laptop. I am not sure this case is called a tint.

Have you entered the OSD (On Screen Display) Menu- Others and ran the Factory Reset?
YPbPr = Designed for a DVD player that only has the YPbPr output
RGB = Computer or DVD player using HDMI or DP
* To what computer model is the monitor attached?
* What operating system is installed on the computer?
* What video card/GPU is installed in the computer?
* What video OUT ports are on the video card/GPU?
* List all monitor cables and adapters attached to the computer and the ports they are using and how they are connecting to the monitor

Yes, monitor has been reset to factory settings using OSD Menu > Others > Factory Rest, with the same result (the Violet Dell screen)
The monitor is attached to a desktop computer running Windows 10.
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730. It has 2GB DDR3 memory. The card is not used for games.
On the video card, two output cables are used: HDMI to the Dell U2718Q monitor and DVI-D to a Samsung monitor. Removing the DVI-D cable (completely) does not change the result.
There are no other monitors or video devices attached to the computer. The computer is not used for games. Disconnecting the second monitor and removing its cable did not change the monitor purple color.
Again, this happens when selecting RGB as Color input format in the OSD menu.
The Dell monitor has a power cable attached and only the HDMI cable is used for video signal. Nothing else is attached to the monitor.
What could it be causing this? Could the monitor be faulty?

Clarification: With 'Factory Reset', the monitor changes the color input format to 'YPbPr' and displays the right colors. Changing the format using the OSD menu, to RGB, the screen reverts to the violet color as shown in the main image.
RGB is the recommended setting for photo editing work.

That's normal. You get the distorted colors because the NVidia gfx is outputting YPbPr, and you've told the monitor it is RGB (or vice versa).
Go into the NVidia control panel, and under Display > Change resolution, select/check "Use NVidia color settings" and then change the "Output color format" to match your U2718Q input color format preference. Also: check the NVidia color range and depth settings for best results. (The NVidia color panel can and has changed from one driver release to another, so the option names may be somewhat different.)
