Inspiron 16 7635 2-in-1, Dell Active Pen compatibility?

I just purchased the new Dell Inspiron 16 7635 2-in-1 and want to know which Dell Pen is compatible? The Dell pen compatibility brochure does not have my model listed. Also do the pens not work with FHD+ display? Read that in the small print of the pen compatibility brochure.

It doesn't appear this model supports an active pen -- a capacitive stylus should work, but if you're looking for pen support features (pressure sensitivity, etc.), this is not the model system you want.

Do you have any suggested capacitive stylus to look into? I was a little fooled by Dell then as the advertisement page on Dell says there’s the ability to use an Active Pen. I guess I’m a bit confused as to why a 2-in-1 would not have the ability to use a Dell branded pen/stylus especially if the machine was meant to be used in tablet form.

There are two different versions of the system -- The one with the Intel CPU (which is the 7620 and uses the PN5122W) and one with AMD (your 7635, which makes no mention of Active Pen support).

You can try calling Dell to see if they do support that pen on your system, but there is no mention of it on the 7635 support page.

One capacitive stylus is the same as another -- they're basically stand-ins for your fingertip, so you can choose whatever appeals to you subject to the fact that without an active pen, you can't expect precision writing or drawing -- that requires a screen that supports the active pen.

So you’re saying the Intel version (7620 with the OLED UHD+) is what I needed to purchase to be able to use an “Active Pen”? Is that because the FHD+ displays do not support active pen? Also is the bamboo ink considered a capacitive stylus? I just don’t understand why Dell would make a 2-in-1 laptop that doesn’t have the ability to use its intended accessories such as a pen. Thank you for your response.

We have asked the teams for a review of the online pen compatibility brochure and assorted Laptop sales pages. That will of course take time.

The Inspiron platform team stated = The Inspiron 16 7635 2-in-1 with FHD+ panel is compatible with both the PN5122W Active pen and PN7522W Active pen.

@DELL-Chris M both pens mentioned above state they are not compatible.  If I buy one and it doesn't work will you refund my money?
