Camera Not Workin- Black Screen

Hi!

My integreted webcam has not been working for a couple months. When I open the camera app, zoom etc. it just shows a black screen.

I tried all the Windows troubleshooting, and the Windows support team also tried everything on their end but said I would need to contact Dell. I am 14 days out of warranty so I can't connect to a chat.

I've seen other people with this issue but yet to see any resolve?

There isn't a physical cover on the camera either.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 series with Windows 10.

Thanks,

Sorcha

I had the same problem.  When I rolled back to the previous (prior to Oct. 2021) audio driver it corrected this issue.  It also corrected other slow computing issues I had been having.

Where is the delete option?

And where is the private chat option?

To ensure the security of your information, I recommend deleting any Dell-based information (Service Tag / Express Service Code) post.

Hello there!

i have checked the details for your system i can see that there is a privacy  shutter on your camera. Could you plzz check if it is open or not you can also refer to the below given link that will help you with a manual to locate the privacy shutter.

I found a lot of us with the Inspiron 15 had the same problem so I googled it. It turns out that we have a privacy screen attached to the frame. Slide left to reveal yourself. Pretty cool feature. Here I thought it was just messed up or needed a driver update.
