17 R5, Alienware logo LED color issue

I have this issue where the colors are either incorrectly showing or not at all on the Alienware Logo. For instance, when I select blue its not on or if I select orange, it shows red.

I'm not sure if its the monitor with the LED panel behind the Alienware logo that's gone bad or if its the motherboard/system board.

Also having similar issues with the Alienware head on the back on the monitor too.

You can press and hold D key and power on the laptop to invoke the LCD built-in self test (BIST).  Similar instructions can be reviewed in the service manual.

That will rule out your concern about the monitor or system board.  If the laptop has been opened recently, the tron light ribbon cable(s) may not be fully seated.  Remove the bottom panel and reseat all tron light cables.

Clarify for our users, are you referring to the 17 R5 (4/16/2018) or the m17 R5 (4/18/2022)?

@Chino de Oro

Will try this. Thanks for the suggestion!

Edit: So it shows all the colors but it doesn't explain why the Alienware logo doesn't show why some of the blue colors and yellow aren't showing.

@DELL-Chris M Referring to the 17R5 (4/16/2018) Its the one that has an i7-8750H 1070 GTX.

I have a video but unfortunately its 40.3MB and its a MOV file.

The laptop screen itself is fine, its the RGB that isn't working properly.

As mentioned in earlier post, reseat the lighting cables may help.  See service manual for removal/installation of the 17 r5  https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/alienware-17-r5/alienware-17-r5-servicemanual/procedure?guid=guid-dbd1a373-f474-4841-8834-9dce25a1b8ae&lang=en-us

@Chino de Oro That's for the tron LED lights on the sides which I'm not having an issue with.

Its this:

Can't remember if a separate cable was used but reseating other cables as well and only if you had tampered with recently.

If the reseating cables does not resolve colors issue, reset BIOS and AWCC (if custom profile being used) to see if it may help.

@Chino de Oro I hadn't tampered with anything. I bought this on Facebook Marketplace.

I reset the bios and AWCC and even went as far to uninstall the AWCC but it didn't change anything.

I suspect the blue LED died and the Alienware head on the back of the monitor has malfunctioned somehow. In the end, I'll need to replace the monitor.
