Aurora R16, YouTube , Edge, black screen glitch, control, game unable to use official Nvidia drivers

Ok, I noticed while watching youtube video, that sometimes I gotten a black screen like a sleep mode kick in while watching video clips on youtube, the nvidia rtx 4080 super drivers seems to be updated to the OEM version which is fine. also I was unable to use the official NVidia RTX 4080 drivers with nvidia new app, since it seems that the control Ultimate Edition had on version 556.12 at the time from nvidia website. so I went back to the dell OEM driver version of the nvidia drivers. its the only game that I know of that had a problem with the offical version from nvidia website. I also had another problem so I did do a factory reset of windows 11 to fix that. in any case below was the error I had gotten which I think is related to the nvidia drivers, not related to the youtube problem. I noticed it started going to a black screen moved mouse and was back to normal so it seemed like even thought I set power mode to display off at 15 minuties, its like something like the monitor went into sleep mode. my current monitor is a M28U gigabyte brand 4k monitor with hdr , that's the monitor I am using with the Alienware Aurora R16 pc, that my dad got for me, when my z690 AORUS master I had in a cooler master case had broken on me, so I went with this prebuilt pc this time,  also I updated the bios to 2.8.0 version, it had  2.7.0 bios at the time of it showing up to my home and Supportassist didn't do the bios upgrade for me, but I guess we needed to manually download the bios and do it on our own , unlike the drivers which SupportAssist app on windows 11 seems to handle. I had gotten the bios update from the support website for the Alienware Aurora R16, it had showed up for my pc under its Service Tag info for software for this pc, so far 2.8.0 is the latest bios for it.  I am not sure why youtube is doing that black screen while I am watching video SupportAssist all the hardware tests seem to pass, I have the displayport cable going to my monitor, and the HTMI cable going to my tv set in my room, which for the most part I only use when I want to play a 1080 game, since my tv set is not a 4k tv. So far playing video games been fine, for the most part all my games I run on the Nvidia RTX 4080 super works fine, I did have a audio bug on the Batman: Arkham Asylum Sound Issue on Alienware Aurora R16 during paused of game, had lost sound then exited out of game and back in to fix it and sound was back, that game I own with my epic games account using the epic games launcher, also ran from Alienware Command Center which I upgraded to 6.x version. otherwise games like Death Stranding seem to play fine, I have the standard version of the game that epic games gave out for free a few christmas ago I think it was released during the free game give aways, same with tomb raider, and batman games I got all the titles for free on epic games, also own the bioshock titles, all of which seem to run fine, I did noticed a bug with hdr on blairwitch game but otherwise no other problems noticed. the bug in blairwitch was that the hdr and the items were not displaying correctly on my monitor which might been some hdr does seem to work right with this monitor a lot of times I ended up having to turn hdr off, like shadow of the tomb raider, it seems to work correctly the hdr, but the slider hdr settings don't seem to work right on this monitor, it was a problem even with my older 3D card which was an nvidia rtx 3080 3D card I had in my gigabyte pc that had broken on me.

"IDXGISwapChain::ResizeBuffers: due to removed device" Directx 12  "Control Ultimate Edition" in GogGalaxy of Nvidia 556.12 rolled back to 552.41 Dell
I have my M28U (Gigabyte brand monitor) set to 60hz on the windows 11 desktop, but in video games I can turn it up to 144hz that's its max for 4k graphics on this monitor, with its hdr support it has.

@Vanadiel

I had to ask Copilot how to look at the Event log for problems, since I never done so before, doesn't seem to be any problems related to the nvidia driver causing youtube to flash black on my whole monitor like its going into sleep mode, but not, doesn't seem to be crashing if it is its not , also I think I wrote that SupportAssist says all the hardware has pass marks on it.

To check the event log for Nvidia driver crashes, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Event Viewer:

    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type eventvwr.msc and press Enter.
  2. Navigate to the System Log:

    • In the Event Viewer window, expand the “Windows Logs” section on the left pane.
    • Click on “System” to view system logs.
  3. Filter the Logs:

    • On the right pane, click on “Filter Current Log…”
    • In the filter window, look for events related to “Display” or “Nvidia”. You can also filter by event sources like “nvlddmkm” which is related to Nvidia drivers.
  4. Check for Errors:

    • Look for any errors or warnings that mention Nvidia or display issues. These entries will provide details about any driver crashes or recoveries.

If you find any relevant entries, they can give you more insight into whether the Nvidia driver is causing the black screen issue.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask! 😊

Every warning message either says

Good news—%1 has been enhanced for a brighter and more detailed picture. You can turn off Auto HDR any time in Settings.

or

Good news—you can turn on HDR in display settings to get a more vibrant picture for HDR videos, games and apps.

message was from 7/20, and yes I turned on HDR since on windows, so I don't think this is a crash message, I tried to filter the log as what Copilot told me

I just noticed my monitor go black again this time when I was on this my Frigidaire window Air cooler, is set to energy mode and it just stopped and when it stopped I seen my monitor go black and then back on could it of caused this problem, I didn't notice the Windows Air cooler doing this before, or it was just time right, I don't know if its connected or not to the YouTube problem? my pc is plugged into the upper wall plug with its power surge protector has my pc and my Xbox connected to it, and the Frigidaire is plugged into the bottom wall outlet, my pc seems fine, only affected the monitor display at the same time it turned itself off, I had it set to energy mode, and sleep mode on the Frigidaire, if I have to I could plug my pc into the wall outlet on the other side of my room, but I have to switch some stuff in my room to do so, otherwise, I am not sure if its connected to what I seen happen on my monitor or not? both are on the same power outlet, but my Frigidaire is connected directly to it, and not on a power surge protector, since it's not made to be that way from what I remember the cord saying on its label. I need this Frigidaire in my room to keep temp at 75 or below 80, outside temp. here can be 110 to 115 to 120 in the summer where I live in CA, US.

I had asked copilot if the Frigidaire could be the cause of the blackouts while watching youtube , below was its reply to me

Yes, it’s quite possible that your air conditioner and monitor being on the same power outlet is causing the issue. When the air conditioner turns on or off, it can create a sudden draw or drop in power, which might be causing your monitor to go black temporarily. This is known as electrical interference or voltage fluctuation12.

Here are a few steps you can take to mitigate this issue:

  1. Use a Different Outlet: Try plugging your monitor and PC into a different power outlet, preferably on a different circuit from the air conditioner.
  2. Use a Surge Protector: A good quality surge protector can help manage voltage fluctuations and protect your devices.
  3. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): Consider using a UPS for your PC and monitor. A UPS can provide a stable power supply and protect against sudden power drops.
  4. Check Wiring: Ensure that the wiring in your home is up to code and not causing additional issues.

If the problem persists, you might want to consult an electrician to check for any underlying electrical issues.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. 😊

1: Monitor blacks out when fridge turns on - bad power supply? Surge protection? 2: Signs of electromagnetic interference?

I am using a Surge Protector, but I think I try to change where I have my pc plugged into to see if that fixes the problem. since I have a feeling, it might be related since there does not seem to be any problems in event log, that tell me anything helpful but as a person who does not look at event log much, I don't really know how to use it, since I had to go to copilot to find out how to even look at the event log. the FRIGIDAIRE if its causing the problem is not doing it all the time, it just started running again, after turning off and it's not affecting the monitor, so I am not sure if I found the problem or not.

Monitor blacks out when fridge turns off once when Frigidaire went off running Energy mode and sleep button on it, it was random and didn't happen again, and when it turns on, it didn't do it again either, and its off now again, and it didn't affect the monitor again, so it might not be the problem with youtube flashing a black screen I thought it might of been but I am not sure.

It sounds like the issue with your monitor going black might not be directly related to your Frigidaire air conditioner, especially since it doesn’t happen consistently when the air conditioner turns on or off. However, it’s still possible that power fluctuations could be contributing to the problem.

Here are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check for Loose Connections: Ensure that all cables connecting your monitor to your PC are securely plugged in. Loose or damaged cables can cause intermittent black screens.
  2. Update Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause display issues.
  3. Check Power Settings: Verify that your power settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, power-saving features can cause the monitor to go black.
  4. Monitor Health: If possible, test your monitor with a different PC or use a different monitor with your current setup to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the monitor itself.
  5. Check for Overheating: Ensure that your PC is not overheating. Overheating can cause various issues, including black screens.

If the problem continues, it might be worth looking into other potential causes, such as software conflicts or hardware issues. You can also refer to this guide for more detailed troubleshooting steps.

Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need further assistance! 😊

this was help from copilot, since I am not sure if that's connected to the monitor going black and then back to normal aftwards.

I am not sure why but there seems to be a problem trying to run the offical NVidia drivers on the system, since I did notice at least one video game got broken when I tried that with the error above. also I am not sure why I got a audio problem in the batman game, it might be that unofficially the new NVidia RTX 4080 Super is not supported under this game, or the audio Realtek device the game has a bug with, I don't recall but sometimes I play my games with my ear pods Bluetooth device, but I don't think the game the sound stopped while I had the game paused when I had un-paused the game the sound was not working, and only worked once I exited and relaunched the game on this Alienware pc. otherwise, the rest of my games collections I own, seem to work just fine on this machine's hardware.

did have a audio bug on the Batman: Arkham Asylum Sound Issue on Alienware Aurora R16 during paused of game, had lost sound then exited out of game and back in to fix it and sound was back, that game I own with my epic games account using the epic games launcher

the problem seems to cause it to go into a sleep like mode display only, I have sleep turn off mode turned off under power settings and had display sleep set to 15 minutes. but I am pretty sure the display off flashing was happening a lot sooner it seemed like while watching YouTube channels.

if this helps, I also posted about it at Microsoft forums, sometimes it can be helpful I used that forum before about my older desktop. So I have a new pc now, I went with an Alienware Aurora R16, runs - Microsoft Community

Check your event log, to see if the Nvidia driver is crashing and recovering, as that will cause a black screen for several seconds while the video driver recovers and restarts.

I hope I fixed it, I used an ext. cord on the power surge protector for the desktop so it can reach the left side of my room, since I cannot move the place on the window that FRIGIDAIRE is plugged into, I cannot move my pc to the other side of the room near the left wall since the Wi-Fi connection would be a lot lower over there, in any case my pc and monitor is no longer connected to the same power outside was my windows air cooler, which is need otherwise my room in the summer here gets too hot, in any case, I think its was the cause of the YouTube blackouts on my monitor, I just didn't notice the Air cooler being the problem, but I think it might be from what Copilot said about power fluctuations it sounds  possible for that to of been the problem, if anyone else has had this problem before, feel free to share it here. I do think it might have been my problem, and I hope I no longer have that problem with my new pc, since I really want the Alienware Aurora R16 to last a few more years than the customized one, me and my dad had built which is why I went with the Alienware for my pc gaming Singler player games I prefer most of the time, I live in a Rural Area in CA. so Wi-Fi and router web connections is what we have for internet and phone here which do get affected by the summer heat on those telephone poles, that the Web works on, when it gets to 110 to 120 here, sometimes the web or our router been known to crash for a whole day or more, it depends, anyway that off topic I do think I fixed my problem. I mark the copilot help as Accepted Answer since I think it was the fix, or at least seems to be at this time.
