Inspiron G5 15, Oculus Rift S, won't detect USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 adapter

You might want to take a look at this post that I wrote in a thread asking a similar question. It is very likely that the USB-C/TB3 port is wired to the Intel GPU, in which case you would not be able to use a Rift S with that system.
