XPS 13 9300, display issue, intermittent

Hi there,

I bought my Dell XPS 13 9300 (16GB RAM / 512GB SSD / touchscreen / 1920x1200) brand new from Dell and everything's great except for these two display issues:

  1. Every once in a while the display will flicker briefly (I've disabled auto-brightness)
  2. Randomly the screen will turn into a yellowish hue with some colors altered (for example, green images will appear as blue). When it happens, I start minimizing windows and usually the problem goes away after waiting a little (up to 30s or so). It's pretty annoying.

I ran the Dell diagnostic test for the display and it's fine and everything appears sharp under normal circumstances, but this issue is bothering me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here's an example of what happens:

It messes with the colors and makes text hard to read. This issue happens probably every 10 minutes or so (quite frequently), regardless of whether the computer is plugged in or not. I don't know if I should return this laptop and get a replacement or if there's some software fix. So far I've updated Windows 10 and Dell to the latest everything. I've also installed very minimal software on it (basically just Zoom, Office, Chrome).

It seems like after completely uninstalling Office (including the one that came with the laptop) and reinstalling and updating it, the problem isn't there anymore. I think it was because the office versions were clashing or something.

So it seems like actually this problem may be related to Dell Power Manager. I set it to Custom charge between 55-70% and the weird screen issue sometimes happens when the laptop goes from charging to not charging, and physically pulling the charging cable out seems to solve the issue right away.

I was also under the impression that the Custom charge setting should charge up to 70% then stop UNTIL the battery self-discharges to below 55%, but instead, it's trying to hold it at 70% so it keeps charging/discharging and the light at the front of the laptop keeps flashing on and off (like every 10-20s).

Also, the "Primarily AC" setting doesn't work. It charges all the way to 100%, unlike what the description says it should do. I think it's glitchy and I really want to figure how to make it stop charging/discharging so this weird display issue doesn't keep happening.

I have the exact same issue on my new XPS 13 9300. It always occurs when I plug or unplug the charger, and will disappear in the same way. I also tried deinstalling Dell Power Management, didnt resolved it for me. Any advice?
