XPS 8940, Razer BlackShark is very quiet and buzzes/scratches, front panel jack

Hello guys, I used to have the Aleinware AW310H headset for 2 years. After some time, it started getting old and I wanted to switch it out. I decided to go to my local retailer (I live in Lebanon now) and got a Razer BlackShark v2 X. It works fine on all PCs, but when I plug it into my front panel jack, weird stuff happens. The mic is recognized, I can enable the slider in MaxxAudio, but it produces very weird scratching/crackling noises and my voice is only heard when i shove the mic in my face, which is irritating considering that I wanna game. I called and opened AnyDesk with the IT of the local retailer and he troubleshooted (was kind of useless) and suddenly gave up on me. You know what's the joke? Now none of my headsets' mics are working, neither my Alienware AW310H nor the razer blackshark. What's happening, you may ask? My Alienware no longer registers any input of my voice unless its very close to my mouth. I threw the Alienware away now because I got triggered, but I still paid 60$ for the razer so I kinda wanna make it work. Any thoghts? Thank you so much in advance! By the way, I'm using phone earphones right now and the mic works fine on them :)

Down load and install the audio driver again, remember to tick the box for clean install  Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_XX2FV_WIN_6.0.9486.1_A55_02.EXE

When plug in a device, a popup should be presented with option to select correct device type.

@Chino de Oro Hi, thanks for the assistance, sadly I've already tried this and just to be safe I re-did it just now. Still nothing... I'm selecting headset on ears as it is and when I go to the mic tab in maxxaudio, i see that my mic is being detected and the volume is set to max. Everything is as it should be, but the bars never pass the line to actually record the input of my voice.

And no the mic isn't muted, it only receives my voice when my mouth is uncomfortably close to the headset.

It sounds like the 3.5mm audio jack has bad ground or a somewhat broken solder joint.  You are picking up your PC noise because the audio from the front panel is no longer grounded. You can attempt to fix it or get a 3.5mm to 3.5 mm ground loop isolator.  If you have to crank the mic to 11 to get it to work on all mics now. It sounds more like a broken joint since you said it works on every PC but the 8940.

But on the off chance it is a driver issue(Highly DOUBTFUL since it is 3.5mm and not USB audio), Uninstall the MAXX Audio and just use Windows, you should be able to set the mic and sound in the audio control panel or use the Razer software.

@JamieLinux The jack has no issues in the pc considering that other headphones/headsets are working fine currently... The noises only occur when using this microphone. Considering the razer software, the headset is not compatible with their software, which I find very frustrating... I wanna say that the headset is the issue but its working on other PCs/laptops. I also want to say that the PC is the issue (in terms of drivers, or the jack), but I can't deduce that considering that other devices work fine. I'm so confused, thank you for the answer <3

I would just get a USB or Bluetooth headset. The front panel on the Dell XPS 8940 is kinda bad. I had the same crackling issue using 2 different high end gaming headsets. Just get rid of that Maxx pro and keep your realtek drivers up to date is my suggestion.
