XPS 8930, Crucial RAM upgrade

Hi

I'm looking to upgrade my RAM with Crucial memory sticks. According to official site (https://uk.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/dell/xps-8930) I have to buy Crutial 16GB DDR4-2666UDIMM  CT16G4FRA266. On marketplace near me there is almost the same Crutial 16GB DDR4-2666UDIMM  but CT16G4DFD8266. Because I don't undestand the difference between this letters in bold  FRA and  DFD8, my question is may I buy this RAM or not?

Any help is welcome

Thanks!

Re: On marketplace near me there is… CT16G4DFD8266.

The above memory 2x16 gb (Crucial CT16G4DFD8266.M16FR 2x16GB) is validated in 8930.

Since those are Crucial part numbers. not Dell, this is a question for Crucial.

Are you sure the part number "CT16G4FRA266" is correct? Your link does not work and the UK site lists "CT16G4DFRA266" as the part number you need. If you search both CT16G4DFRA266 and CT16G4DFD8266 on the  Crucial site you will see no difference in the full specifications of the two parts.

You should upgrade your memory by installing matched pairs, but note that the memory can come as either single (1Rx8) or dual rank (2Rx8) so you should consider buying a kit so that you have a matched pair.
