I am having trouble installing Macromedia Flash Player. Nothing happens when I install it. Do I need to change any settings to make it work? Help!!!!!

Thanks! I've already tried that website. It's something with my computer settings. I think it has to do with the ActiveX control. Which I can't seem to download. Would you know anything about this?

I do not have the golden bar that you referred to. I pulled up the macromedia flash player website and clicked on install now under the yahoo internet tool bar that was indicated. The bar on the bottom of my screen shows that its installing and then it says done. Then the macromedia flash player page comes up again. But nothing is installed. This is so frustrating!!!! It will drive you crazy!!!!

If you don't see the golden info bar about installing Active X then your computer should already have the Active X control already installed.

When you click the Download Now button on top of the Macromedia Flash Player Download Center
Windows at this link: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOX

Then you get the Macromedia Flash Player web page at the top of this page there is a picture of a long box that swings around couple of times and says "Macromedia Flash Player Successfully Installed".  This means your Macromedia Flash Player is installed already on your Dell computer.

Hope this helps you.

What Internet browser are you using to download the Macromedia Flash Player?

If you are using Internet Explorer then there should be a golden info bar just below the address bar in Internet Explorer web browser with a blue shield with a white question mark icon and message to the right that says: This site might require the following Active X control: "Macromedia Flash Player 8 from Macromedia, Inc". Click to install...  x  This appears when you click on the Download Now button on top of Macromedia Flash Player Download Center
Windows web page. If this info bar message appears then click on it and follow the instructions on the screen to install the Active X control. After the Active X control is installed then you can download the Macromedia Flash Player.

I think it the golden info bar should appear at the top in other Internet browsers. Try to find this golden info bar and click on it.

Do you see this golden info bar with a blue shield with a white question mark icon?

Do you happen to have Spywareblaster? If so, check in its tools that Flash killer is not enabled. There may be other apps that have a setting to block Flash, if you have anything like that check it.
