Windows Update Dell firmware 1.19 broke my laptop
Windows 11 updated Bios firmware to version 1.19, and now my G15 5515 Ryzen is broken
Symptoms:Laptop display is dead all the time
2 amber , 7 white blinks on the LED
External display works only when windows login screen shows
Keyboard lights are not working
Unable to see boot screen on external display USB C
Can't get to bios or can't view it on the screen
Device manager shows yellow triangle on AMD display adapter
Bios version on msinfo is 1.19
The story:
I was using my laptop as usual. Then There was this windows restart for updates notification.
Checked it and last I recall was firmware Dell 1.19,
Okay restart.
Now my G15 5515 internal display is not working and I get 2 orange blinks then 7 white blinks which is smbios issue !! I don't know what is that.
After many tries the USB C ext display is working only when windows is booted to the desktop. Other than that no display at all.
Dell support said they will get back to me!
Any ideas?
I've tried RTC, Ctrl+ESC. Nothing on the displays so far..
1.18 and now 1.19 same bug.
Some are talking about the bios bridge which is on the Brazilian forum but can't find the links!

@anechaev
My friend I did a post on reddit and the community over there shared a solution.
and now I am reading this from my laptops monitor again.
It was only few minutes and all this dell troubleshooting steps are not helping the only way to solve it is Here
they should include it in their knowledge base too.
But till today the brightness issue is not resolved which shows how unhelpful all this time we report bugs on our machines and Dell does nothing to help us solve it.

Same for me. Thanks Dell for publishing unchecked updates on Windows Update for the most critical motherboard subsystem. As far as I read in reddit and Dell forums (checking 1.18 firmware update topics for Dell G15 Ryzen edition), we, and many other users who will install this update, might have bricked our internal displays and Dell won't provide any solution except replacement with our own money.
Dell-icious!

I have five Alienware M15 R5 laptops at my office, and two just got bricked by this update today. I'll never buy another Dell product in my life.

Same for me on 12-07-2024 this Dell, Inc. - Firmware - 1.19.0.0 update pop out I did it as usual and suddenly when it was installing my fans started too move very fast and it made a crack noise like something came off. Now whenever I open Alienware Command Center and check the speed of the fan that broken piece always get hit and makes the noise
