Can we use a vault drive of VNX for meta-volume of VPLEX?
Hello,
Can we use a vault drive of VNX for a meta-volume of VPLEX?
Because I found the following on page 15 of "EMC® VPLEX® Administration Guide". But it's not explaining the reasons.
If the meta-volume is configured on a CLARiiON array, it must not be placed on the vault drives of the CLARiiON.
So I want to confirm
if only the vault drives of the CLARiiON must not be used for a meta-volume of VPLEX?
Or the vault drives of CLARiiON series must not be used for a meta-volume of VPLEX?
Otherwise the vault drives of all storage arrays must not be used for a meta-volume of VPLEX?
If there also is the related documents or KB articles I'm very pleased.

Hello Hiroki,
The metadata volumes must not be placed on the vault volumes of any array.
Thanks for pointing this omission out. I'll open a ticket to have this clarified in the documentation.

Hello,
i would also know why the vault cannot be used for Meta-Volumes.
Should i open a SR to clarify that?
