Hi nunyadambiz:

When you launch SupportAssist do you see a prompt like the one shown below asking you to install an available update? If this is what you see, please describe in more detail what you mean when you say that your laptop crashes after you click the "Yes, update now" button.

Dell SupportAssist v3_9_1_245 Part A Do You Want To Update SA Now Prompt 01 Jul 2021.png

I was updated from SupportAssist v3.9.1.245 to v3.9.2.57 today after clicking the "Yes, update now" button but the installation was very slow and appeared to hang several times. When the install wizard finally finished it simply closed but never restarted SupportAssist, and I had to restart SupportAssist manually.

If you can start SupportAssist you can also decline the update (i.e., click the "No, update later" button shown in the image above) and go to Options (the gear icon in the top-right corner) | About SupportAssist to see if you have the latest v3.9.2.57. If you have an older version of SupportAssist then checking your version number this way should automatically trigger a check for a newer version.

Hi nunyadambiz:

Did you find a solution to your SupportAssist problem? I see that Dell employee @Dell-BradL marked my 01-Jul-2021 post as the solution but I want to be sure that my suggestion actually helped.
