Precision 3630 - Bios checksum - but out of warranty?

Hi folks,

I've got a Precision 3630 that I think did a BIOS update via Dell Command Update, that appears to have broken the machine.

It sticks on the Dell Logo - and will not proceed any further, even when hitting the F2 or F12 keys - so I can't recover the BIOS.  - The machine acknowledges F12 has been pressed in the top right of the screen - but nothing more.

Neither does the Ctrl + Escape key.

I can occasionally get the "blink codes" up of 2 orange, 5 white blinks.

But otherwise - It just stays stuck on the Dell logo.

I've done the bios battery out, taken the hard drive out, graphics card, swapped RAM, tested with no RAM to get the beeps.

I've asked Dell support for assistance, but no reply after 24 hours.

Has it self-bricked?

With 3660 connected to power outlet, press and hold power button for 30 sec.  This resets BIOS.

Precision 3660 Tower Service Manual - Error Codes

2 amber and 5 white = invalid RAM.  Interesting, but I don't think that's it unless the RAM was changed.

@bradthetechnut Hi - That is no help.

The machine never progresses beyond the Dell Logo.

Also - Been waiting a week for Dell tech support - No reply.

What a joke.

@bradthetechnut RAM hasn't changed.

Sorry - My fault - 3630, not 3660.

Even took the RAM out, swapped the RAM, all the same result, unless there was no RAM at all.

Precision 3630 Tower Service Manual - Error codes

Probably not much help, but here it is:

Did you try BIOS reset or recovery at all?

I see in your original post you mentioned attempting BIOS recovery with starting with F2 or F12.  If BIOS needs recovering, that won't work.  I linked the instructions a few posts ago.
