GPU power cable for T7920

Hello,

I have a Dell Precision T7920 and looking to make some changes since its original purchase. It originally comes with three PDB to GPU power cables, two of one length and a third slightly longer. I need one more of the slightly longer cable. The part number for it is 08MC3R, I know this is a valid number because it is on the one cable already in my computer.

The problem is when I call Dell to order the additional cable, they tell me this is not a valid number. I have called several times while trying different parts "departments" and each one has had the same result. Does anyone know of a way to order this cable or an equivalent one or am I out of luck?

Hi @DELL-Cares ,

Would you kindly look at this case? Picture provided by @Glen762 is definitely from a Dell cable with a proper part number. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi @Glen762 ,

Would you provide a picture showing label of your exiting cable? Should be something like this:

The technical support department has already spoken with me about it and they tell me it is in fact a valid part number.

Hi again @Glen762 ,

So do they able to provide you a valid cable to be purchased?

If still not, you may try TN9TD, a 8pin-male-to-6+2pin-male PCIe power cable at 65cm. With proper cabling direction, it should be long enough for additional Quadro GPU.

I'll try calling again later today but so far on the parts side they have not been able to confirm that that part even exists. Thank you for that compatible part number, that one is even available used on fleaBay if need be. The truth is the one I'm looking for is actually longer than it needs to be but I wanted to keep them matching so I may end up just replacing both of them if the number you suggested is shorter to reduce excess Cable in the case. Less excess cable is more room for air flow

Have you tried Parts People? There a lot easier to deal with than Dell Parts, and they are a Dell Parts supplier
