4x 512GB PMem 100 Series

Hi, I plan to use this in conjunction with 12 64gb 2933 RAM, and my system is a Dell Precision 7920 Tower.  Yes, I have the latest BIOS update.

Would that be a problem?

I am also upgrading to Platinum 8268. Any assistance will be appreciated

I think I found the answer to my question.

upon further researching and brainstorming, I went back to the technical guide and realized there is a similar configuration that I want to use. it has 12 64gb with 8 512gb. so 768gb 2933 ecc ram and 4096gb pmem.

based on the diagram, I could in theory have 2048gb of pmem in the layout I highlighted below. please let me know if I am wrong (i. e. need 4096gb for the system to be balanced)

See that am being tagged by Brad to this thread.  Not really my cup of tea, but I will try.  Assuming this system has already met the determine factor for memory configurations and capacity, 2nd gen scalable processors.

To use PMEM in memory mode, the minimum ratio should be 1 to 8 and Dell rack/tower often uses 1 to 4 ratio.  The amount of DRAM memory should be 1/4 of the amount of PMEM.  Therefore, in order to use 4 x 512GB PMEM, OP will need to popular them with 8 x 32GB RDIMM.  Populate modules as configuration on line 8 of diagram above.

The CPU is compatible with the 7920 tower.

Persistent RAM is supported, but for specifics on  compatibility, contact the manufacturer or RAM seller.

Out of my league on that one, as some server things are.  @Chino de Oro is one that I bet can answer that question better.
