Question on why my Headset Mic isn't being recognized on my pc.

So I have a Dell Optiplex 7040 MT and on the front of it there is just one jack port that has a Headset symbol under it. My head set are HyperX Cloud Stingers and they have one jack that connects both the head phones and the mic. So when I first plug in my headset it recognized it as speakers and would not give me an option for a microphone in the input section in the sound settings and it says no audio devices are installed in the recording tab of the sound section in control panel. I have tried plugging it into the jack port in the back and still the same results. I have also tested the mic on other devices and it does in fact work. Can anyone help?

The audio port in the back is line-out connector, therefore, use the front input for your headset.

Download this audio driver and run installation.  Click on the box clean install to remove previous audio driver.  After installation is complete, reboot system and plug in the headset to test again.  There should be a pop up box asking you to select which device just plugged in, select headset, then the type/size (earbud, over ear, etc.), select OK and you're all set.

No message of removing previous audio driver would show.  It's an explanation of the box "clean install".

If there was no box to select, that will be fine.  The installation will overwritten the previous driver.

The main point of audio driver reinstallation is to trigger Dell audio popup box when a device is plugged in so that you can select headset.

@Chino de Oro

I installed the audio driver and it took me to a Dell Update Package. It had two click box Saying Install and Extract. I ran the Install and it restarted my pc but nothing of "removing previous audio driver ever showed. Is there something I could have done wrong.
