PCIE Training Error cause?

Can anyone explain the cause of a PCIE Training error? I tried installing a U2 drive mounted on a PCIE card in a Power Edge T420. Booted the machine only to see this error. I know the card works fine on another PC. Don't understand what this error means. Also noted the card became hot.

Any insight would be much appreciated.
