U2724DE, DDPM and DCM not working at the same time

Dell U2724DE

Dell U2724DE

Hi,

So I want to use DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager) and DCM (Dell Color Management) at the same time but they don't seem to be working at the same time on a macOS.

So because both tools have their own color management integration, I believe something is bugging in there, and the whole system gets confused on which one to prioritize, or just so it seems.

So what happens is, when both tools are running, they are constantly getting into a "scanning" or "please wait" mode or something, where it tries to detect the display, and once one of them completes, the other one start scanning, and when the other once completes, the 1st one starts scanning again. And it's a never ending fight between both tools of who will get the priority over the other, and this should not happen.

Just to add... if I turn off/quit any of the 2 apps, everything is normal, they simply cannot run at the same time, so I have to sort of a chose between using the features in DDPM, or the flexibility of DCM, bot not both at the same time.

Can you replicate the issue on the Windows OS PC when the M1 Mac Mini is disconnected? If yes, then that proves that the two software should NOT be run simultaneously because it happened in both macOS and Windows OS.

@DELL-Chris M
Hi Chris,

Unfortunately I cannot, as the Windows laptop that I have is only for work, thus it is joined in a corporate domain and I(we) do not have all permissions to install any software outside of the organization for which I'm working.
Can you forward this to engineering so that they can test this in a lab environment?
If this is confirmed to be the case(both tools cannot work simultaneously) then this is something that needs to be noted on both tools, as it may cause further issues and confusions amongst other customers.

Thank you.
Best Regards.
