My trusty Dell U2718Q, which has been fine all this time, woke with this odd discoloration/distortion out of nowhere. Any ideas as to what's happening here?

There was never a fix for this U2718Q panel issue. All Dell did was exchange them while the purchased warranty was still current/valid. Your warranty expired December 17, 2021.
