S2419HN, Latitude via HDMI, no audio

 

I recently purchased this S2419HN and have successfully linked the screen output from my Dell Windows 10 Latitude (fully patched) via HDMI. I cannot get any audio output. I've tried connecting the jack from the Latitude and tried both HDMI ports. I've attempted to load the Dell monitor driver however windows does not accept it and prefers it's default. Should it be necessary to use the jacks and the HDMI? I've tried connecting other sound devices (mobile phone) via the jack but there is still no sound. Have I bought a defective S2419HN?

* Click my DELL-username and send me via private message the following information =
- S2419HN service tag number
- S2419HN 20 digit serial number
- Your full name, shipping address, phone, email address
- If this S2419HN was NOT purchased directly from Dell by you, you have to fill out the Ownership Transfer form

 

The Latitude is out of scope for our Consumer team, but we will try to assist with this new monitor.

 

The S2419HN does not have built-in speakers (page 9). You need to connect external powered speakers to the #5 audio line out port. Headphone usage is not supported for the #5 audio line out port.

 

The source PC is in control of the audio going into the S2419HN through HDMI. Right click the Speakers icon on the taskbar, click Open Sound Settings. Under, "Choose your output device", click the down arrow and choose S2419HN HDMI. If S2419HN is not listed, then you must install the S2419HN driver.
