No USB-C signal from your device

Adding a issue so as to make sure Dell realize the issue. So it's basically random whether this monitor will work on a laptop that has USB-C, including MacBook Pro.

Now I'm getting "No type C1 signal from your device" when I plug the monitor to both my Windows GS 66 Stealth laptop (two USB-C port) and MacBook Pro (Intel version, four USB-C ports).

What alternative solution do we have to make use of the monitor?

Dell has many USB-C monitors. You need to tell our users out here which specific USB-C monitor you have there. Then they can offer troubleshooting.
