G3223Q, Radeon 7900 XTX, HDR question

Hi,

GPU: Radeon 7900XTX

OS: Windows 11

I've recently purchased a Dell G3223Q monitor and when I select use HDR the colors on the monitor turn like the following image:

Here is an image of the settings without use HDR on:
Does the monitor enable HDR automatically when playing games without turning this setting on?
The monitor is connected through DP 1.4 and Smart HDR is enabled (tried all settings). Color format is RGB
Any help would be appreciated, this is my first HDR monitor.
Thank you.

Disregard the non-HDR Windows 11 desktop. HDR is designed for running HDR games and HDR video.

When using non-HDR content like the standard Windows Desktop, HDR should be Off in the monitors Menu and in Windows Display Settings.

When using an HDR compatible Game or HDR compatible Movie, HDR should be On in the monitors Menu and in Windows Display Settings.

@DELL-Chris M

Thank you for the reply, Chris. I have the same outcome when toggling it on with a HDR compatible game running also, everything is just green, red and blue.

Does that Radeon 7900 XTX have an HDMI out port to test with our HDMI cable to the G3223Q HDMI 1/2 in ports?

Is there another PC there to test on the G3223Q?

To receive assistance from Dell chat support for your country, they need to first verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private G3223Q Service Tag, current Firmware, and all of your troubleshooting. Open the Menu- Others to get the Service Tag and Firmware =
