AW3423DW, broken screen due to fall damage.

Hi,

I gave a mate of mine the AW3423DW a while back and it fell off of his monitor arm recently and has been trying to get it repaired or replaced. He has contacted dell support and is being told dell basic warrenty does not cover damages or replacement which when you check on the basic warrenty option it states " accidental damage and repairs and replacement optional"

What i am asking is if he was to request an upgrade to the premium pro plus, would that allow him to send it in for repairs or replacement.

Damage is the screen itself is find visually when its not on but when display input is provided only a small line lights up in the middle of the display the rest dont light up. His other display works fine. He also changed display cables same issue.

How much does premium pro plus cost and if that does not cover it how much would it cost for repairs if it is repairable. And if premium plus pro does cover it how to go about it please.

Dell does not repair monitors.

The AW3423DW never sold with accidental damage protection warranty.

Even if it did, it would not be ethical to change the originally purchased warranty coverage after accidental damage happened.

@DELL-Chris M so is there no way to get it fixed or replaced? Is it a case of having to get a new one out of own pocket?
