Need help finding CMOS battery for Dell Latitude 7340
Latitude 7340
Hello,
The CMOS battery on my Dell Latitude 7340 recently died. The symptoms ("time of day not set" error, 3 amber 1 white LED code) all seem to point to that issue, and I confirmed this with Dell tech support. However, Dell insists on sending a technician over to my house to replace the entire motherboard. I was wondering how I can find a replacement CMOS battery myself? I tried ordering one (https://a.co/d/5YaCQA8) but the connector didn't quite seem to fit, and now I am not sure how to find the specific part. Is Dell correct that I have to have the entire motherboard replaced?

No, the entire MB does not need replacement unless there is a specific problem with the MB. This page on the service manual explains the replacement procedure and it is extremely easy as you probably already know. This page at eBay has the correct battery as does this page at Rome Tech.

Thank you to both for the help; I guess I needed to have paid more attention to the shape and polarity of the CMOS battery connector.
