thank you for your help!

@JenniferB2021  The Dell docks you'd want with a Latitude 7490 are either the WD19S or WD19TBS.  The difference is that the latter supports Thunderbolt 3, which was optional on the Latitude 7490.  If your system has Thunderbolt, then the WD19TBS will be able to tap into 4x more video bandwidth than the regular WD19S that only uses USB-C, which means you can run higher-end display setups.  The WD19TBS also allows you to connect a native Thunderbolt peripheral to the dock if you have or think you might ever want one, although Thunderbolt peripherals are admittedly somewhat rare.  If you don't need the higher-end display or Thunderbolt peripheral capabilities, or your system doesn't have Thunderbolt in the first place, then the WD19S is the better choice.  With a 7490, you'd be fine with the 130W w/ 90W PD version of the WD19S.  You don't need the 180W w/ 130W PD passthrough option because the 7490 doesn't require that much power.  The TBS is only available in 180W w/ 130W PD form, though.  There's no harm using that, but that particular aspect won't deliver any benefit to your system.

The WD19S when paired with your system would be able to run dual displays up to 1920x1200 each or a single display up to 2560x1440.  The WD19TBS would be able to run dual displays up to 4K 60 Hz or triple displays up to 2560x1440.

Note however that both docks only have a single HDMI output.  But they also have dual DisplayPort outputs, and a USB-C output, although that can't be used simultaneously with the HDMI output.  And the WD19TBS has a separate downstream TB3 port that can work as a USB-C output that is usable simultaneously with the HDMI output.  So you may need adapters, or you might just need to plan to use a different input on your display(s).
