Screen Replacement

Hello! I recently dropped something on my Dell Inspiron 15 Touch's screen and the LCD got destroyed. Now, when it turns on (usually the screen doesn't turn on), it is a mixture of white and black. I would like to replace the LCD and have the touchscreen work as well. The touchscreen actually DOES still work, and the screen is smooth to the touch. I went to this link--- http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/135-118071-27809/Dell-Inspiron-15-3521-LCD-Touch-Screen.html  But I think it is only the front, with no LCD. Please help! Thanks!!

That is just the bezel and outer glass.  What you need is the complete assembly, including the LCD.

It would be better to replace the entire unit.  Separating the digitizer from the screen without a minimum of cosmetic damage if not fracture is not easy to do.

Hi IDEASGUY,

Thank you for writing to Dell Community Forum.

Please private message us the service tag of the system along with your email id, so that we can check on the correct part and confirm.

(Note: please don't mention the service tag or email id on the public forum as it contains your personal information).

That's what I thought. Thanks! But one more question- do I need to replace the digitizer as well? (Touch still works perfectly) thanks!!

Hi, thanks for replying to my comment. I am new on these forums, so I do not know how to private message. Also, what do you mean by service tag. Sorry.

Ok. Thanks. I didn't know that they were attached. I was wondering if you know of any websites that could supply me with a screen? I attached my model info.
