I am looking to get drivers for my laptop, A Dell XPS502, CD/DVD Drive with Windows 7 Home Premium, my pc was damaged by a Trojan and this is the only driver that I can not re install, as I can not find it on Microsoft site nor on dell site. Windows 7 is not reconise  any external CD/DVD Drive that I plug in to my laptop. Where can I download this driver?

J002974,

The chipset drivers need to be installed in order for the computer to recognize devices plugged into the USB.

I don't think Jesse's answer is correct, since that's an older system and therefore wouldn't have USB 3.0, and Windows 7 has native USB 2.0 support.  If you can plug any other type of USB device into the system and it works (USB flash drive, mouse, etc), then Jesse's answer is definitely wrong -- that said, you still want to install the Intel chipset drivers.

However, there's no such thing as CD/DVD drivers; they're just natively supported in Windows without any drivers required, like hard drives.  Some external CD/DVD drives require the host system to supply more power than the USB spec requires in order to operate, and if your system doesn't do that, then the drive won't work with that system.  Sometimes CD/DVD drives work around that by having two USB connectors, and you have to have both plugged in for the drive to work.

You obviously didn't read the OP's other posts (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/20026543

He's spammed the forum 3x with the same question.
