dell studio 1747 video resolution restricted
After a recent Windows update the video display does not recognize all settings. The display drive appears to be upgraded. I am using Windows 10. The video adapter is "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 ". I have been trying to go back to the last known release which was in April 2013 but have not been able to install. The os keeps installing one dated July 2017 which does not work properly. With this new driver the system does not support multiple displays or the various resolutions.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

You'll need to roll back the OS update first -- that's where the problem is. Then it'll be a wait and see whether Microsoft and AMD fix the issue -- or abandon support for the hardware platform (which is after all quite old -- it's approaching eight years). Most of the industry is adopting Apple's approach of only supporting hardware until it reaches 4 years of age -- and then abandoning it.
