Apologies that your system is not working as expected.

A few things come to mind first:  Is this the original battery that came with the computer?  Was the battery purchased separately?  Does the computer work with the charger plugged in?  Does the indicator show the battery is charging when plugged in?  Is this a new system?

Original battery that came with the laptop - Yes

Works with the charger plugged in - Yes

Indicator light on when plugged in - Yes

New system - Yes purchased around a month ago

Please check in Power option to see if the computer is actually turning off or if it is going into sleep.

Go to power options – Change advanced power options – Power buttons & lid – Power button action – change to shutdown

Charge the battery & turn off the computer using the power button and check if the battery drains.
