AC Power Adapter error message. Please help

Hello All!

A few days ago, when turned on my Inspiron6000, I got a BIOS-generated error message telling me something about the AC power adapter problem(I don't remember the exact words), and “This will prevent optimal system performance”.

The error tells that you can press F1, F2 or F3.  One of those options takes you into the BIOS settings, another one disable the AC adapter error message so that you don't see it anymore, and the third option lets you continue booting up but leaves the error message enabled so you see it the next time you reboot.

By accident my daughter pressed F3, and disabled AC adapter error message(I can't see it anymore). I would like to call Dell support, but I need to enable AC adapter error message, so I can give them a full error description. Is anyone can walk me thru and help me to enable the error message?

Thank you.

ValK

If you are using Windows XP you might try this; Open Control Panel.
On the left side select CATEGORY VIEW. Now select PERFORMANCE and MAINTENANCE
 and then select ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS.
Now double click EVENT VIEWER.
Scroll down to the date this error occured and there should be a red icon that says ERROR.
Open that and read it. You can select the little paper icon on the top right of the popup window that will copy the contents to the clipboard. You can then open notepad or WORD or another WP and select EDIT-PASTE and continue to print the error or just save it somewhere so you can read it back to someone.
Good luck-kiwibum

You need to hit delete or f1 to go into your bios settings while booting up the pc. Navigate through your bios to your power management screen. Then locate the setting for  Power adapter warnings turn this on then save settings and exit.
