2xps17 (L70) screen replacement 2 questions

I cracked my screen the other day. I wondered if anyone else has replaced their screen and had a good inexpensive source for the 1600x 900 resolution glossy screens?

I also wondered it there is a true HD screen that would work in this laptop?

Try parts-people.com.  Note that if you change the resolution, you will also need to replace the display wiring harness -- the one for a lower-resolution screen won't work with FHD.

I looked on the parts people website, but I didn't see the particular part I need. Either that or I have no idea how to tell the difference in the copious choices. This is the information I have on the display. None of the displays on the website matched what I have.

17.3 in Multi-Touch 17.3 HD+ WLED TL (1600x900)

Part Number- GJGYY ASSEMBLY, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 17.3HDF+, LIGHT EMITTING DIODE, T, L702X

This information came directly from my dell system configuration.

It appears you have a touchscreen system - which requires a different LCD.  Not many of these systems shipped with touch panels - your choices in replacement LCDs may be limited.

They do list one:

I only cracked the top layer (clear layer) of the screen. Is it possiblle to get just that top clear part?
