G3 3579 won't start up

Earlier this week, I broke the screen of my g3 3579. I bought a replacement screen on amazon, which I installed today according to these Instructions. As the instructions explain, I disconnected my battery and removed the bezel before detaching my broken screen from the video cable. Then I attached this screen, which I believe to be compatible with the g3 3579. After that, I reattached the bezel and reconnected the battery.

When I tried to start up the laptop after this process, it wouldn't turn on. I think it's a start-up issue as opposed to a screen issue because the keyboard wasn't lighting up either, which it had done earlier in the week when I tried to turn on the laptop while it still had the broken screen. I worry that I might have damaged a piece of hardware when I disconnected the battery and bezel, but I don't know what. Thank you all for any help you can give me.
