Inspiron 5675, Ryzen 2 R7-2700X?

Hoping someone has found a work around for this.

I know that the motherboards that support the Ryzen 1700X are supposed to also support the upwardly compatible 2700X processor.

I got a 2700X in the other day and tried to do the upgrade. All I got was the Power light flashing 4 times, pause than cycle again. I looked up the error and it seemed to indicate a memory error. I swapped out the memory and tried it again. NOTHING. Popped back in the original memory back in and reinstalled the 1700x processor and it was back up and running in a second. My question is, has anyone successfully upgraded this motherboard to a Ryzen 2 R7-2700X? Any ideas? BIOS? Jumpers?

Thanks,

The Inspiron 5675 motherboards (477DV, 7PR60) that have two full length PCIe x16 slots were validated with the Dell OEM CPU =
MDT18 Ryzen 2 R7-2700X
8N7VW Ryzen 2 R7-2700

We cannot speak to any of the retail Ryzen 2 R7-2700X or Ryzen 2 R7-2700.

From the 5675 support page. The certified CPUs are as follows. The 2700X is not among them and I suspect that a BIOS update would have to be done for the CPU to work. At this time I do not believe that Dell has released a BIOS update to support the 2700X. Dell will usually not support the newer processors with an update. Instead they would rather introduce a new system for sale that supports the newest CPUs.

Processor
•AMD Ryzen 7 1700X
•AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
•AMD Ryzen 5 1400
•AMD Ryzen 3
•7th Generation AMD A10-9700 Quad-Core APU with Radeon R7 graphics
•7th Generation AMD A12-9800 Quad-Core APU with Radeon R7 Graphics
System chipset
AMD Promontory X370

Thanks and my bad. I was going strictly from the specs on the 5675 support page. Good to know and I am sure the OP is happy to see that.

Is there a way to purchase the MDT18 Ryzen 2 R7-2700X processor. What if a processor failed past its warranty and the previous gen Processors were not available anymore,

while those CPUs are listed as supported, I do not believe they will work in a Dell 5675. The Dell 5676 uses the same motherboard with Ryzen 2 CPUs, but with a different BIOS. The latest BIOS for the 5675 does not support Ryzen 2 CPUs. Please let me know if I am mistaken.
