PS6210 SNMP Traps from Controller/Member
Hi friends, trying to have SNMP traps sent from the controller/member to my NMS of choice. I have configured SNMP via Group Manager with the right destination server (my NMS) and a trap community.
However no traps are sent/received. Querying SNMP for eqlGroupEnableSNMPTraps shows value of 2 (False).
I have configured read-write community string by SSH CLI (blanked out in screenshot)
I've tried writing a value of 1 to the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.12740.1.1.1.1.26.1 with the correct private string however the request times out.
I noticed when installing SAN HQ that SNMP traps are sent however they originate from the SAN HQ server and not the device. This is not what I want (and useless for monitoring of traps).
How can I make the controller/member send SNMP traps directly to it's configured destination, or, how do I enable eqlGroupEnableSNMPTraps?

Hi, as far as I can see eqlGroupEnableSNMPTraps comes as False by default.http://www.circitor.fr/Mibs/Html/E/EQLGROUP-MIB.php
I would like to share a few links that I found, I hope it helps. Unfortunately, I do not have the opportunity to practice actively, but I think the articles here will be useful.

Hope that helps!

Thankyou @Dell-ErmanO but unfortunately configuring SNMP traps as per the Group Manager settings doesn't allow traps to be sent from the device. I have tested this by configuring a community name and the destination server, then deliberately failing a login attempt to trigger a trap being sent.

Hello,
I think I have found your issue. Failed logins will not generate an SNMP trap on EQL. Hardware failures do. In one of the links is a list of the events that will generate a trap.
